Revere is opening the doors to all to come and see the new studio on Thursday 15th October 2015. We will be welcoming guests that wish to join us in our celebration. The last two years have been tremendous and the new studio is a testament to all the hard work carried out. Reservations are free and can be booked here.
Revere have been honoured to be asked to design interior spaces for the University of Teesside; not once but now twice! The University is very special to us as it is where managing director, Diana Higgs trained as an Interior Architect. Revere have also had two designers work with us over the last two years; Alaia Perwaze & Emma Bidgood, both of who also trained at the University of Teesside.
Please feel free to take a look at our projects page for a peek at the designs.
Our new studio has been received extremely well by our clients. The former warehouse is barely recognisable, with a new insulated suspended ceiling, new central heating system running through our impressive Hudson Reed designer radiators, a stunning new working/displaying kitchen, bedroom and study from Crown Imperial (the built-in coffee machine from Fisher & Paykel is a big hit!) and the jaw dropping 23 stone freestanding bath and wc facilities from Keramag. Décor adding the final tasteful styling is from Harlequin, Zoffany and Casadeco.
Not a bad place to design from even if we do say so!
Onwards & Upwards
Revere have been fortunate enough to secure new larger business premises with storage facilities for all our client's stock to be delivered to. We are so excited to have the opportunity to expand the business. This will involve the conversion and refurbishment of an empty warehouse shell into a new fabulous displaying studio; giving us the chance to showcase some of our wonderful supplier's products. What an adventure!
We are extremely delighted and proud about our recent news - Revere Interior & Architectural Design has just been nominated as a finalist to win Best New Business Awards 2014 in the Creative Industries sector. www.bestnewbusinessawards.com
We will be attending an awards ceremony on 23rd February 2015. Please wish us luck!
Revere has made the news! Teesside University has recently published a news article about Revere's director Diana Higgs and the routes of Revere Interior & Architectural Design.
On a recent meeting with Brian, the building control officer for Durham Council, we received a lovely compliment for having excellent scruples when it comes to our design methods! On this particular project the client's one bedroom bungalow has an existing dormer loft conversion that had never received planning consent or adhered to building regulations. To bring the conversion up to date would have been a costly principle and would not have utilised the clients space to their best advantage.
We offered the client 3 design proposals to choose from; removing the dubious staircase, replacing with a hatch & retractable ladder up to the loft for use as storage only.
Removing the stairs allowed for a lovely open plan family living space with contemporary kitchen, master bathroom and two large double bedrooms, one with an en-suite wetroom. The rear of the house is fully glazed opening up into the clients lovely garden.
Brian commented that many groups would convince the client that re-doing the loft would be their only option, costing them more money.
Thanks Brian for the recognition!
The 'design only' aspect of the business is growing nicely for us this year. In the last few months our client's have responded well to the option to have a professional Interior Design scheme that is paid for independently - with no 'tie in' hard sale of products.
We have recently been involved in:
* The design/extension of a child's bedroom.
* An end terrace house which required a refurbishment and reconfiguration of spatial design for all 3 floors.
* The spatial design and structural alteration of the interior layout of a bungalow which had a loft conversion that had never had planning permission/building regulations by the previous owners. This project required a modern open plan layout suitable for disable access and ease of living with the best configuration for lots of natural light.
* The spatial reconfiguration of a large bungalow in Ingleby Barwick, which simply has some of the best views of our local area!
We are pleased to introduce Alaia Perwaze to our design team! As a graduate with a B.A Hons in Interior & Architectural Design from the University of Teesside, Alaia will be an asset to our growing team.
Continues it's amazing growth of the last year... We are now a Limited Company. The new position of the company will assist us in further expansions; including an increase in our talented design team and more wonderful suppliers.
